Each flag has two metal grommet holes for attaching flag to pole, hang on wall, or wear it as a cape!  All of our flags are double sided.

In 2019, writer Ann Magill, who has cerebral palsy, created the original Disability Pride flag. This flag, a symbol of solidarity, pride, and acceptance, was inspired by Magill's disappointment with the confined setting of an ADA anniversary event. Her experience motivated her to design a flag that could be a public symbol of Disability Pride.

The flag features zigzagging stripes on a black background, symbolizing the maneuvering around barriers that people with disabilities face. Initially, the design caused issues for those with visually triggered disabilities when viewed on digital devices. Community feedback led Magill to refine the flag's design by straightening the stripes, muting the colors, and reordering the stripes to be accessible for those with red-green colorblindness.
